running with my girls

Five Women. Five Races. Five Stories.

SNEAK PEAK TRAILER now live on our new SEED&SPARK Campaign!

Who cares about a Black single mother running for local city council? Why should it matter that a Queer Black woman is running for the Denver transit board? Why should people pay attention to a Latinx woman born in one of the most polluted neighborhoods in the United States? Why does it matter that Denver has never had a woman mayor and has the chance to elect an Afro-Latina?

For decades, Denver’s political establishment has sought growth at the expense of the city’s most vulnerable communities. By 2018, Denver was gentrifying faster than almost any other city in the country. That’s when five of Denver’s activists - all women of color and political outsiders - decided they had had enough.

Running With My Girls follows these women as they knock doors, make calls, and support one another while mounting their historic grassroots campaigns to take back their city and reclaim a seat at the table for Denver’s marginalized and under-represented citizens.
